    anyone know where i can find some? haven't gone to the junk yard in a while so there might be a SE there but someone probably already took them. i was thinking, to get that look, could i plasti dip the foam part where they normally sit? or would that look sketch?

    Even if you dipped the current channel moulding you would probably never see it unless up close since they sit flush, so I'd vote no on the dip. The rails stand up taller than the roofline. You can find rails on Special Editions, Daytona's, and 40th Anniversary editions. The Anniversary ones may be the same purple color as the car, the rest are gloss black.

    As far as finding a set just search craigslist, ebay, here, etc. A set is bound to come up. Most likely in the $200 range including shipping as they are scarce.

    I think def sketch on dip. If you can't find rails (ha ha i have some but they're mine!), don't yank the old moldings out just clean them and stick a suitably sized universal body side molding on top. Might look better... poor man's roof rails. The originals get all crackly looking but you can tape to them. Underneath, theres a pretty deep ditch in the sheetmetal. It might be possible to pull off something tasteful but low-buck with stuff like these:
