    2005 GP GTP

I have a situation where the glass and the backing came out of the passenger side outside mirror. On the back you can see two little pegs that fit into the mirror body to hold it in place. Well one of those pegs broke off, so now I'm trying to find the replacement mirror with backing and one that has the white pegs. I don't need the entire passenger mirror unit.

The problem is, when I do see the mirror with backing listed online, I do not see the 2 white pegs on the back of the replacement. Does anyone have the part# that I would need to search for?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

i got a mirror form a junk yard, then swapped the guts into my old housing so i didnt have to paint it to match.

can you glue something together? if you have the broken peg super glue it back on otherwise like scotty said, go to a junk yard and get a used one for cheap

glue really wont work, this peg thing snaps into the motor that moves the mirror. it comes apart and takes some force to do so . but if it breaks its a game ender.

some douche decided i didnt need a mirror and busted it for me. smashed them pegs up. so i just gutted the junk yard one and put it all in my matching housing being it was still in one piece.

Thats the right idea, go to a salvage yard and get just the pieces you need out of another mirror. Probably makes most sense to just buy the whole mirror, but seriously... mirror head installations are touchy. Sometimes theres an unbelievable amount of force you have to apply to the mirror face before it all snaps together (or comes apart). So some are gonna break, especially after a few years. Thats why you may be better off going to the yard and ruining mirrors until you have the piece you need.
All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.
