Question ive been running the Scangauge 2 for a couple days and it seems to be doing odd things to my car. The clock resets every time i start the car. The cruise control works intermittently, cluster flickers from time to time and the idle acts up and bogs down. But as soon as i unplug it everything goes back to normal.

Im thinking about returning it and getting a Aeroforce. I was wondering if anyone ever experienced anything like this using the Aeroforce before i shell out more money. I have a 03 so i don't know if that makes a difference being they are a bit odd

    Thoughts?

Sounds like something is seriously messed up on the OBD plug or the scangauge. Try it in another vehicle and see if it works, never had an issue with my Aeroforce

After i noticed the issues i started searching for the symptoms i was having with the scangauge online, and i found all of them listed on a fuel economy forum. i also found a article from gm saying not to use the scangauge II due to electrical issue in certain years. So im positive its the gauge. no other vehicle to try it in unfortunatly.

I mean it wasn't horrible issues but enough to annoy me. Hell a couple of the issues could have been flukes as i was never able to replicate the cruise issue and i was the passenger when that happened so i was taking someone else's word for it. i know for sure it was jacking up the idle for the first 30 seconds of running and the clock for sure as those were the most common complaints and i was able to replicate it multiple times. As for the flickering the gauges only did that once when i first hooked it up so who knows.

All 3 of the Aeroforce's I have cause funny problems in my car, 2 are different models even. Most annoying is the rear defrost only stays on for about 30 seconds when anything is plugged into the ODBII.

It's definitely possible that it's just something uniquely oddball with your car.

Yeah... IndustrialFish -- Guessing you have something funky with your wiring system/obd port. I have never had an issue in my 04 and many other have not had issues. Might want to start checking electrical connections....
