I was wondering if anyone has tried putting a Bonnie/Grand Am/Impala/etc shift knob in a 04+. I just wasn't sure whether it would work or not, because I believe they use clips rather than screws to stay on.

The look I'm going for is a Bonneville GXP shift knob on, and have the leather boot as well, yet still have the rest of the shifter there (I still want it to light up).

i'm sure you could probbally retrofit it to have it "screw on"

a bonnie shift knob attatchment looks to be identical to a grand am one, So pick one of those up out of a JY(or buy the one i've got for cheap lol) and try and get it to work. If you can do that, then pick up a bonnie GXP knob, and do the same thing to it, and be on your way

    The Bonneville uses a clip.

If you're looking for a GXP knob, there's a couple for sale on the Bonneville forum for 50 bucks.
