Amazing how much improvement hosing away eleven years' worth of carbon will offer! And it was pretty awful in there; took 1 1/2 hours to get it clean, but the hard start seems to be gone... and as a bonus this lurch I'd had beforehand at city speeds (when feathering the pedal) is gone too!

I noticed much easier starting as well. I assumed you took off the iac valve and cleaned the pintle and inner surface as well right? That will help too. Our impala would not start on the first try half the time. Cleaning those two and it's always started first try and fires up faster.
