Pick up a 05' Grand Prix for my son for college/work. Had some issues, been able to fix most myself and had to send it to a transmission shop to fix it.
One of the items I had to replace were the hard a/c lines that come off the firewall and connect to the soft hoses for the a/c under the airbox. It's the one that runs along the drivers side inner fender. While in the junk yards almost every 7th gen GP had the exact same issue. It looks like the transmission cable that lays on the line, over time cuts it. I went thru 5 cars before I found one that was ok to use and it even had some scuff marks from the cable.
If there a "quick fix" besides rerouting the cable away from the a/c line?
thx..
