Since the forum doesn't like when you try to search 3 letter words I am forced to make a thread asking my question.

I decided I am going to update a bunch of my bulbs to LED. I am looking at diodedynamics and was wondering what style most of you were running in the 194 spots?

If I figured correctly there are 8 interior 194 bulbs (2 front map, 2 rear map, 1 shifter, 2 kick panel, 1 glove box.) Then there are the 6 exterior 194 bulbs (2 for the license plate, 2 for the front marker lights, 2 for the rear marker lights) for a total of 14 194 bulbs.

For the time being I intend on replacing the 4 map lights, the 2 kick panel lights, and the 2 license plate lights, with a minor consideration for the shift indicator light since it needs replaced anyway. Also intend on replacing the reverse bulbs with LED.

With that in mind what are those of you who have replaced those lights running in those spots?

194 leds from Amazon....some dirt cheap bulbs that work fine. Only one that was a wiggler was one of the license plate bulbs because of the way the copper female connectors are shaped

I was looking at ones on Amazon but reviews were very sketchy on durability. All of the more expensive ones had stellar reviews in comparison.

I don't mind spending a little more money for quality as well as supporting a forum vendor.

I just got some of the new 194 HP3 LED's from diode dynamics. They are very nice. Here is the review on them. They are very bright compared to their SMD2's that I also have. These are installed in my 99 Grand Prix.

For the dome/map lights I'm using there SMD12 board.

In my gauge cluster I am using these and they have lasted about 3 months. They look good. But durability is their weak point. I bought the diode dynamics 194 HP3's to replace these.

One of the benefits of the diode dynamics is that they are not polarity sensitive. So no need to be flipping the bulb 180 degrees to get it to come on.

I will be replacing the rear courtesy lights which are diode dynamics 195 SMD2's with the new 194 HP3's in cool white of course. The SMD'2 have lasted 2 1/2 years.
