Hey guys, so since winter hit where I live my car has been giving me some problems with sputtering when I'm passing on the highway. I'll crack it wide open and then the car feels almost like traction control is kicking in(its not).
It's very fast sputters. I've been reading and cleaning the MAF, or replacing it could be a solution, but I do want to know when the CAT typically gets plugged? My car is at 110KM and I already had a bank 1 o2 sensor fail on me. I'm wondering if that sensor is telling me that I'm having some plugging issues and this is part of my problem? Any thoughts?

Maybe... but it really doesn't seem like it's in the transmission. I'm just wondering since it's winter here and I let my car warm up 20 minutes that maybe my cat is plugged and would cause this issue.. I just don't want to throw a bunch of money around and not fix the issue

Never fixed it. I told some guys that my sensor went out on this forum and they said it wouldn't effect anything.. which it didn't until now.

    Which sensor.. up or down?

Up is definately going to cause issues. Down in an 04, I'm unsure if it'll keep running the diag test...which would again cause an issue

time for a new cat and upstream o2 i guess.

having a bad o2 will cause over fueling, and then clog the cat up for ya.

Yeah... I cleaned up the throttle body and the maf and it's still giving me hassle. I'll install my pacesetters that I got from my buddy and throw some new o2 sensors. I'm not putting a cat back on the car, third vehicle now that I've had issues with the cat...

**Here's another question. I've had this annoying pulley squeak forever. I decided to spray some PB Blaster to the pulleys... I started with the supercharger pulley and that was the squeaker. Should I slap on a modular to fix it or does this mean something in the snout is screwed? There's no grinding either, just a squeak that's from the pulley, I spraying a **** ton of PB Blaster on it and at idle the squeak goes away but when I took it out for a drive it was squeaking again? ...

I'm picking up a belt tomorrow and I'll see how that goes but I don't understand why the squeal goes away when the engine is hot. I let the car warm up for 45 minutes yesterday and the squeal was gone. Then I got home and I could hear it again. If it is the belt I'm curious if the top end sputtering is coming from the belt slipping under the heavy pull...? I've noticed that the sputter will happen when the car is fully warmed up, but if its cooled down(warmed up for 15 minutes in -20 weather) it wont sputter. Makes no sense... at warm temp. the car sputters. At cooler temp. the sputter is gone but the squeal is loud... unreal lol
