Anybody got an opinion on a supercharger from a junkyard. Found one from a GTP here at a local junkyard for $150. The GTP had 72,xxx miles, any thoughts and opinions, I'd like to pick one up for cheap to top swap mine but didn't know if I should pull the trigger on this?

Look around on here to see if you can find a lower price.. However 150 isn't a bad one. You should however look into what is involved four a top swap. These are most of the things that you'll need to change in order for the SC to work... The heads, LIM, coil pack bracket, harmonic balancer, MAP sensor, MAF sensor, fuel rail, fuel line fittings, you'll need a tune, and I strongly recommend you add headers to the list. As for whether you should buy it, take the belt off and make sure it spins freely. Then unbolt it from the LIM and check to see if the Teflon coating is coming off. If it is then don't, but I believe. Small amount of peeling is ok... Just undesirable.. I may have missed some things in the part list so look into it more

Most parts from a junkyard have a 30 day warranty

PM me if you want to know more about top swapping, I recently helped assemble one.

Funny they are charging that price .. at the pick and pull I paid 55 bucks for the Gen v and 15 for the manifold so I venture for the topswap setup it would be 150 for everything just keep looking OP

Thanks everybody, I'm searching everywhere and holding out till I find the very best price I can find. The 150 was the lowest I've found so far but I'll keep watching. I've read those threads and have wrote everything down that I need as well. I'll ask for help if I require it.

Nice man. There's a pull a part here in Akron, Canton, and Cleveland and it's cheaper than most junkyards. I've been checking them out.

Funny you should mention that, my local yard doesn't list a price for superchargers period... so it's up to the sales person at the desk to determine a price. I had my eye on an M90, so every day, I would ask the sales person for a price. Eventually, I had a nice lady give me a price of $20. You can guess what happened next.

Would it be better to get an M90 from an 04+ GP? Mine is an 02, I know there was a difference in the engines s little bit but would a newer one do just as good as a 97-03 S/C?

04 or newer GP has a gen 5. Yes it is better but must get an adapter for throttle body. Not a hard swap but not a direct swap.

You could always wait until black friday on ZZP site. Last year they had a topswap deal if I can remember it was just under a $1000 for the first one to order it. Which it comes with EVERYTHING you need to topswap.

YEP! Pretty sure first buy was 50% off and it was up for about 30 min after zzp posted on fb before someone got it. If only they offered it for 2004+ :"(.

Well... i'd say it was between 800-900ish so just under a 1000 ^_^. If I could find a whole top swap for under $1,000 i'd buy it in a heart beat for my 05 GP!.
