How much does it cost to fix the rear engine oil leak.
The firestone people said they don't do such fix.
I have been referred to Safety Auto. Are they affordable?
or Anyone can suggest better mechanics.
The oil leakage is pretty bad. All the oil had gone.
It is Pontiac Grand Prix 2007
Mileage around 112500

Valve covers? If so it's not that difficult just awkward is all lol. Price wise you could knock it out with just buying parts but if your not a diy kinda guy im thinking maybe 250.00

Ok you said all oil? That's not likely a valve cover. Hmmm. One of the more knowledgeable guys will chime in soon

Yea if it's all oil chances are it's not a VC probably looking at the crank seal or its leaking where the oil sensor is..

if it pissed out on you on the pass side rear of the engine, ( like you see a puddle pour out and form in seconds) thats the the oil pressure sensor, its a 12 dollar fix thats no harder then taking the pass side tire off.

the way firestone guy told me that they do not do such fix and refer me to Safety Auto it seems like it is kinda a big issue.
The receipt paper they handed over to me mentioned
oil pan wet
- oil leak appear to originate around the rear of engine

Without knowing exactly the spot of the oil seep/leak it's hard to tell you anything concrete.
But if it's leaking that bad it sounds serious.

when you say rear, wheres the rear in your eyes? the driver side is the true rear, the pass side is the true front, ( where the belts are)
then there the firewall side and the bumper sides.
if its hitting the floor under the car on the driver side that could be the rear main seal or the gasket for the rear plate back there.
pass side fore wall could be a oil pressure sensor this thig will drain the oil pan real fast.
pass side middle, could be a crank seal for the balancer.
take a vid in the day time of this leak in action.

guys,
i am so naive on the car stuff. That is why Fireston people has been ripping me off again and again. In last 6-9 months they made me spend over $3K showing different problems in the car. Two months back they did change the caliber plate whole set at the rear both sides for which they charged around $700 and today only i noticed Rear Right wheel's one of lugnuts (out of 5) is missing and I have been driving with it in a highway.
Last month they did change the gas filter and change the oil and i have a hunch during that time they screwed up something.
Now the rear engine oil leak for which they said very rudely that they don't fix it. They even didn't inform me that the wheel's lugnut is missing though they did mention it in a receipt paper, as they are kinda a ware they missed one of the lugnuts when they changed the caliber and all.
Even they changed my good tire with new tire(which is much slipper) without my consensus. However they didn't charge me for it.
Anyways, I appreciated reply from all of you. Thank you.
Regarding rear engine oil leak stuff, @scottydoggs
i would say it's the driver side the true rear. (the rear main seal)
Just thought of getting some idea on how much it cost before I take a car for repair to safety auto(recommended by same Firestone guy)
hope they would not rip me off like fireston always did.

it wont be cheap if its the rear main or the plate on the back of the engine. you need to pull the engine, or the tranny to repair it.
easy 500 if not more.
what state you in? you may have a local near by who can help out for far less then the shops charge.

make sure you don't have a lower intake gasket leak, Mine had leaked on top of the transmission and then under the car on the tranny side.
