I bought a 2005 grand prix comp g with 157k for 3300. Did I pay a fair price? There were no noticeable engine leaks. Transmission shifts smooth. All of the electronics and lights work. The handling and acceleration was really good to. It was also the color I wanted black on black. Only problem I have is that after driving the brakes start to squeak when I hit the peddle. To It to a mechanic and he said the pads were fine. It's almost like a metallic squeak.I sold my 2001 red gtp coupe to gets this one and have to say so far I'm happy with it.

    sounds fair to me.

the brakes pick up some disk brake quiet you smear it on the back of the pads so it glues them to the caliper. this way they cant vibrate.

while apart grease the slider pins, and the pad hardware.

Yeah I didn't have this problem with my 01 but I had just put new ceramic pads before i sold it. I guess I"ll just buy some better pads and see if that solves the problem

Lol always that one guy to 1 up you! J/K dsmuts. I think if you went ahead and bought it, you thought it was a fair price and that's what matters - after all, it's your car. I think it's a good price and I'm glad you like it.

Slutty Smutty have a thread on the car.. it's a long "how to break or fix everything that is broken".

Meanwhile... not long ago I picked up a 2004 GT with 121K miles for $1500. It had a bad owner issue. Essentially it needed a coolant elbow swap again.

Mine wouldn't have needed a trans if I didn't do anything to the motor I just found a 04 gt with 130K on it for $1500 needing some work but it's nothing i can't do.

I don't think our problems are the same. I wouldn't describe it as a grinding sound but more of a high pitched squeak. I sprayed my brakes with a hose and they no longer made the noise but of course it came back. So I'm thinking it's just the pads

lhrxxd3adxx, did you install new rotors also? It could be the backing plate that's bent a little

I had the bracket that the ABS harness hooks to get bent and rub my rotor before.
