I have TOG headers(about 10yrs now) and I have this annoying exhaust leak(been 3yrs now just started to get worse). I don't have a smoke machine but the leak is clearly coming from the flex pipe/collector area

with these headers is it common for the flex pipe to go bad or is it simply just the gasket? Im not sure if the collector would be an issue but I know the rear headers and cross over pipe goes into the y-shaped piece which is all welded together but im not sue if that's a common area to leak on these headers

ZZP sells a gasket for the flange on the flex pipe and also sells a flex pipe piece which seems to be a whole direct bolt on piece for the TOG headers

I know most of the headers for our motor are the same or set up pretty much the same way but anyone with any experience of having exhaust leaks with these headers generally around the downpipe area?
Not your average grocery getter, but theres always at least two things on the list.... 10w-30 Castrol Titanium and Shell 91 premium mixed with a lil 100 octane racing gas......

I bought speed daddy headers and I know a lot of reviews said the flex pipes on those tend to be a source of leaks. So I anticipate that I will have to either replace that down the road or weld in a catalytic. For now I am wrapping it with header wrap to try to protect it a little and extend the life of the flex pipe itself.
So for your issue I would say buy a new piece of flex pipe and have it welded in if you feel that is the source of the problem.
