    I seen this grand Prix at the store just now,approached the old woman about buying it,she said she's getting to old to drive,has 70000 miles and new motor and is a 98 and column shift,bought new,pristine condition and she's 93,what would y'all pay ?

    Some very early 97's I thought still had the column shift option...

    Wouldn't pay much...because they aren't worth that much.

    Would need to find out maint. history on it, any accidents, condition of body and interior (pics would help), any rust issues (especially around the rockers and rear strut towers). Just because it has low miles and a "new" motor doesn't always equate to a good car. Been there, done that lol... Things have a nice way of breaking when they sit a lot. Hoses dry up, belts crack, dryrot, etc...

    Never seen rust on local cars here,interior is clean looks never sit in,she was chatty and we had groceries in the truck but all she said was had a tiny scratch on it and bought it new in 98,she said she would call me later, I've seen the car around for years

    Ive seen a 97 se with column shift and front bench..... lol iirc quite a few impalas had column shift.

    3k seems like overpaying to me? 2 grand would be my best offer.
