So I just got this downpipe installed today and its kind of loud. It sounds like the exhaust sound is exiting from it, is this how its suppose to sound? Or is the flex bad? The cat doesn't look bad either. I bought it used......

Its welded. The connections looked good. It actually sounds like a grand Prix in the mid section of the vehicle
Connections can look good but still leak I would say get down there and put your hands around the connections and try to feel the air leaking out
But be careful not to burn your self
Will report back
Almost any aftermarket exhaust (sd headers, downpipes, etc.) are going to be louder because in many cases the steel piping is quite a bit thinner than stock exhaust.
That said, even a small exhaust leak (most likely the downpipe to catback) will result in a lot of noise. It should be held together by a gasket and two bolts... if welded, I suspect holes in the welds.
Its a sputtering sound so its a leak somewhere. There is a tiny 2mm hole where the dp meets with the cat, but i cant see how it could make that much noise. Im really thinking its the flex coupler as the inside is made like those cheap flexible exhaust pipes and is not braided on the inside. Ill further inspect later
Havent gotten back under the car but i took it to an auto shop this morning and they tacked welded a sleeve on the exhaust which cleared it up. When i changed my oil pressure sending unit I'll take a look
