Just bought this 00 gp gt and it didn't come with any keys. Replaced the cylinder and it seems like the switch doesn't turn all the way off and the key won't come out. Also the security continuously flashes. I read on the buying guide for these cars and it said the brake light sensor can cause the cylinder to not release the key but would it cause the security light to keep flashing when the car is running? I did shave the magnetic plate down or whatever it is on the cylinder so I was able to get the key out.

Pull the steering wheel up there's a little release button under the steering column. I have to press it about half the time

As to the security light flasking, that's probably the PK3 thing. I don't know much about that, I hate electronics

johnnie06, ignition key - Pass-key 3 system will need a chipped key. If you do have the correct (security / chipped) key. Perform 30 minute relearn procedure.

What does the key look like? Bare metal key? Oem chipped keys have a gray plastic around the head.

That could be the key -

    Try this -
The battery has to be in very good condition and fully charged. 30 min relearn - Turn ignition on, security light must be on. Wait 10 minutes, security light will go out. Turn ignition off for 5 seconds. Repeat two more times. Total of 30 minutes. For the last step, leave ignition off for 30 seconds before trying to start the engine.

Make sure headlights stay off, HVAC system off, radio off. Your battery must maintain system voltage over 11 volts during this process. Most battery chargers produce to much ac voltage to use during relearn. Computers hate ac (alternating voltage) voltage.
