in one of the news vids there it said regal too. and the fix is just new keys, it seems the slotted keys make the key ring pull the key back, so a new keys with just a hole is the replacement.

Thats how i feel
EDIT: According to the site, I am clear... for now.. I redact my statements earlier.
I knew it was coming. The Impala's were recalled a few days ago, this was only a matter of time.
I'm willing to bet the 97-03 guys will be next.
They made those up until 2003?4? I'm going with...they will be too.
In other news, GM will also recall a can of Bush's baked beans.
This isn't as bad as the Air bag recalls...wait until that ball starts rolling. A replacement key (which I think is the plan here) is nothing compared to what it is going to cost the Japanese companies....and some of Ze Germans (BMW)
I don't understand this problem, the cobalts might have actually a defective ignition. Now its just GM protecting itself from people not using common sense.
how does a recall work? do I just wait for GM to contact me or do I take my car in
I imagine there be quite a bit of a wait trying to get this done anytime soon with the amount of recalls. IIRC you just have to take your car down and they run the vin and see any active recalls for your vehicle then bam..
According to the dealership I went to they haven't got any details yet about the LaCrosse from GM so be prepared to wait a while.
Well never had a issue with the ignition in the 6 years I've had the car so I can careless about getting it done. Don't have a massive amount of keys and keychains and I bet you'll never have a issue.
I do have bigger and better issues to address before this anyways lol. Down the road though if I feel the need I'll let them fix it since it won't cost me a dime.
