Its been about a month since I bought new tires for my grand prix 2008. I bought brand new Michelin Defender's and I couldn't be any happier. However last week what I notice was if im just driving/cruising at low speeds with windows down I can hear the tires and it sounds like the tires are sticking to the road. Didnt have this issue before when I first bought them. I ended up putting more air in all the tires they are now at 39-40 they were about 32-34, I also went through a car wash thinking something was on the tires causing the noise and that didnt help. Its been warmer the last week about 27-30C wondering if that has something to do with it. It seems the sounds are coming from both driver side and passenger side window. Anybody experience this before?

your alignment could need to be checked. or its just the new tires making road noise. some tires are louder then others. new tires can be louder due to the deeper treads too.

They did an alignment when I got them installed, well they did it twice as they steering wheel was off. It can be just the tries but they werent making the noises when I first bought them. Is it worth getting it checked?

was this a pc alignment? if not theres always a chance they still f ed it up, been there my self. ill never go to a shop again that dont do a pC alignment.

being they had to do it twice, id think its not a pc alignment. those get done once and work all most 100% of the time.

Don't know what's the different? Is pc alignment all four wheels off the ground vs on the ramp?

pc alignment looks like this set up, clamps on the wheels with lasers and mirrors. lift or ramp means nothing. if you didnt see any of this stuff in the pic here, its a crap alignment they do the old way. its not always 100%.

drag your palm and fingers across the front tires, should feel level and smooth across the lines of treads. if you feel a high sharp edge of the treads while dragging your hand across the tire either way, the alignment is out for sure.

its what happened to me when i got a bad alignment from a crap shop with out a pc set up. i went to firestone and my god, the before and after spec sheet was crazy. these assholes has set it up so far out of spec im surprised the tires didnt wear out completely. i had sharp edges on the treads too. both front tires too.

not sure what scalping is, but in a months time some tire damage can happen. the out side edges can cup, thats hi and low cups in the edge of the treads a top the sidewall. if you have that its clear by looking only.

Sweet some good information, I called the garage where I got them im going there on Tuesday to fix my AC in the car and they said they will look at the tires and determine if the road noise is normal for those tires, if its not and the tire is just bad they will issue a warranty with Michelin. I did feel the tires today and seems fine to me smooth edges. Will keep you posted and thanks again

he means "Scalloping/Scalloped" tires. Same thing as cupping/cupped.

If your tires are already scalloped after a month, they screwed up the alignment wicked bad. Make them replace them free of charge it that's the case

Ya sorry scalloping, there not I just checked them they seem smooth. Anyways if that's the case I will make them change it for sure. Will no more on Tuesday, I still think my steering wheel is slightly not centered after the second attempt
