Ok looking for a trans for a 2008 base model grand prix. What's my options? Local yard has a what I believe to be a Supercharged model. That can't be used correct? Atleast without changing the gearing correct?

Correct. Most 04-08's will fit and work. If you want to ensure it's right.. use a non SC and change the diff.

Ok great. If I'm lookin for a just simple swap I should just stick the the vehicles year and trim right?
