Ok so i want my valve cover gaskets and my oil pan gasket changed. Bought the valve cover gasket but dont have 300 buck to spare to bring it to a dealership or shop to replace. Anyone in the Fox Valley Area in Wisconsin willing to help me out and change both for me??? would really appreciate the help?! PM me if you interested.

    Please and Thank you!

You could do the VC gaskets by yourself in a day if you take your time and take pictures of things.

Not much you can break, plenty of info on here about how too and a bunch of dudes to help you if you get stuck. They helped me do mine when I was afraid to wrench on my car and it went through easy with no problems. The oil pan, now thats more complicated. If you were near me I'd help ya out.

we got girls here who work on their cars. we all pretty much talked danielle15 into doing her own trans pan drop and fluid change. pink nails and all in the pics lol shes done a few other maintenance jobs on her own too.

valve covers are not hard, its just nuts and bolts, they turn one way to come out, the other to go back in. rather simple really.

and if the valve covers leak bad enough it can look like the pan is leaking. so covers get done first, de grease the engine and watch it over the next week for new leaks or hopefully no leaks.

you watch enough youtube vids and you'll talk yourself into it, hmm, i can do that.

Yeah. I would try to do it but since I have absolutely no knowledge of working on cars.

What basic tools do you have available on hand. you'll need 13mm sockets 18mm deep sockets a 15mm a long screw driver, 3/8" sockets fot the valve cover perimmiter bolts and the new valve cover gaskets

take the car down to a local car wash place and pressure wash off the engine area before you begin to keep it as clean as possible. need to rent a serpentine belt tool from autozone to get the belt off in order to move the coil pack bracket out the way. that should be most all the tools you need

not on a n/a engine, coils stay on the dog bone bracket gets taken off.

no belt removal till the back one when the alt comes off.

you defiantly dont need a belt tool for either belt on a 3800. i use a 15 mm socket on a short beaker bar, or a short pipe on the ratchet for the extra leverage.

In recommend an open end wrench for the one dogbone backet bolt because it bolts really close to the injector.
Also add coolant elbows to then list of parts, I recommend the aluminum ones.
Then you're gonna wanna bleed the cooling system and add coolant because you will lose a fair bit.
Don't get discouraged by any of that its really simple.
