    It looks like this:

Dark blue LTZ with tan leather interior.

    It's a wonderful car.

It has the best stereo I've ever heard in a car, and the creature comforts are outstanding.

    I have only three complaints:

    1) The rear end is a little bland
    2) The side support on the seats is a little lacking
    3) The mylink radio is a tad sluggish

All in all, I dare say that if you took off the badges, you could fool someone into thinking it's a german import.

If that gen impala was RWD I would own one by now... I think it looks better than the SS sedan.

I think the SS looks cooler.

For what it' worth, the impala is faster than my GTP (pretty handily) and handles 10X better. My GTP had torque steer all over the place - I sense none of that from the impala.

Really the only thing I miss about the GTP is the HUD (and the freedom of driving an old car - who cares if it gets a ding).

I had the GTP for 16 years all together. Considering how hard I drove it, it served me very well.

What would a decent price be for a 1998 GTP with 168k miles? I have it sold - but the speed with which it sold makes me wonder if I underpriced it....

Cool loking from the front, but the price tag is straight retarded on a LTZ. MSRP of over 40k LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL, though I bet you payed closer to 30-33k for it, which is still a butt ton.

The purchase price of my new 1998 gtp comes to $37,600 in 2014 inflation adjusted dollars. In other words, for the same price, you get more hp, better mpg, better warranty, 2yr scheduled maintenance, WAY better build quality (not even close), dozens more features and on and on. And that's comparing retail - more than I paid.

If you're looking to buy new, 40k isn't a hell of a lot anymore.

Love those new impalas. And you're right, 40k for a new car is nothing nowadays.

What is a decent sell price for a 1998 GTP w. 168k miles? 1 owner (me), never wrecked, no dents, good shape.

    KBB is $2400 or so.

I posted it on craigslist at about 4:00pm on Sunday 3-23 for $3k. I had an offer for $2700 cash about forty min later (which I accepted).

Between then and the guy actually picking it up, I had 6 other interested parties. I probably could have sold it out from underneath the guy who agreed to pay $2700, but I'm not a dirtball.

Anyway, it was listed and sold in less than 24 hours.

$2700 is a good price for the GTP. They're a dime a dozen really and can be had much cheaper than that.

and I'd be super happy with any car selling in 24 hours!
