I was wondering if anyone had any input on this handheld tuner. I dont really want an indepth tune just basics like disable dod, fans kick on sooner, 91 octane etc. I dont really want to go the hptuners route cuz im not trying to get to detailed. The tuner is 390$ and is unlimited. You can tune any car as long as its on the acceptable list of vehicles to use with it. I own a 06 GP GXP with 132,xxx. I dont plan on messing with shift points unless i get the trans rebuilt.

I too am getting it for my 06 GXP. It is a great way to go for just a small amount of money. Adds about 25hp to the car according to their site. The big parts for me are the DOD shut off, Rev Limiter adjustment, and just an over smoother operation. BTW...look on amazon. I just bought mine for $315 shipped. Same product brand new.

I purchased mine already. I also got mine on amazon for 308 free shipping. One thing to take not because ive already asked on diablosport.com. when you disable dod your cruise control will not work anymore. Doesnt happen on the monte ss or impala ss just us gxps. Press the traction control button and then use cruise and it works fine.

wow...so you have to turn off the traction control in order for the cruise to work? Weird. So what have you done so far? What are the pros and cons? do you notice a lot more power?

The only con is i wish it came preloaded with more tunes. But its my daily driver so i need it mainly for my cooling fans, dod and 91 octane gas. I also tried out the firmer shift points and oh boy!!! Im afraid to know how hard shift points feel like lol

awesome. So do you feel more power? Low end or top end? And have you adjusted your fans to come on earlier?

Id say high end. The fans dont kick on till 196 stock and thats about at 25%. So i started at 192 25% and then 50% at 196 and then 70% the hotter it gets. I will say gas mileage sucks without dod and you notice more....on the highway. I just and doing without dod for two weeks to see how my oil consumption is.

HP Tuners would have been better, a simple click can disable DOD and keep CC like factory, and you get to make everything custom yourself.

Yeah but it is far more expensive for a unit that is tuning a car that is a DD. If I was tuning my GTO, and didnt already have an actual professional person to tune it, I would go with the HP tuners.
