    New to the forum.
I have a 2002 GP GT. For a while now the heat and ac on the passenger side has not been working properly. In the winter even when the control switch is on heat it's blowing ice cold air. Sometimes messing with it will give lukewarm or hot air, but it never stays; after a few minutes it goes back to cold. I just replaced the actuator, but that didn't solve the problem. What else could it be?

Well if you have the duel climate control you will have two actuators, just se if they operate when you move the controls. If not check the vacuum supply and also make sure it's not your heater core clogged.

take the new actuator off, then turn that Little knob by hand, hot is one way, cold the other. it only moves like a 1/2 inch, so dont try to make it move any further then it will go.

car needs to be warmed up of course to see if your getting full heat.

I remember when I was in the middle of my aux input mod for my radio I had it all apart and went to school with it like that, I could see from where the radio used to be, the actuators moving for the heat controls.

You saw the vac pumps for the air flow rods moving. the actuators are on the side, and all you see is the center part of the wheel move a very little bit, but you need to have your head in the glove box to see it move. or put your finger on it and feel it move.

theres a X molded on the actuator, the lines on the middle of the knob line up with them when moving to full heat or full cold.

I made sure the actuator was lined up and everything according to the instructions. It is indeed dual climate control and I hear the actuator motor moving and have looked through the glove box hole and see it moving. The driver side is functioning properly as far as I can tell, it's just the passenger side that isn't. Any other ideas what would only effect one side?

take it off and turn it by hand, maybe it just cant turn it all the way to hot.

mine was rather hard to turn, i had to lube it up some and work it in, and it was still tight, but the motor would turn it now. and still does.

The only reason I now believe the actuator isn't the problem is because if you play with the climate control for that side the air will get hot, it just won't stay. I'll try turning the actuator by hand tomorrow though

they can take a while to move, its not instant. there layers of gears and a very small motor inside the actuator.
