How many people here top off their engine oil when it gets down a 1/3 to 1/2 quart or wait until the add line and add a full bottle? Thanks, it is just a lazy Sunday cleaning the house and my mind is wondering.

Well, to answer the OP's question, I typically would top it off when it gets about 1/2 quart low. Since the valve cover gaskets are known to leak on these cars, and GM states that loosing 1qt/3000mi is considered normal consumption I'd just top it off as needed (and then fix my leak, lol..)

your car runs better a quart low. let it get to the 1 quart line, top it off. it takes till 3,000 miles let it go till your oil change.

dont let it ever go lower then the add 1 qt mark, thats no good.

Mine is usually about 1/2 a quart low @ 3000 miles. I personally don't add any it's not gonna hurt anything if your running a quart low as long as it doesn't get any lower than that.

Every 3,000 miles I also lose 1qt but I change my oil/filter at that time anyhow.
