Mine are about shot and Im concerned the side skirts will start sagging. Is the side skirt sag usually due to the actual rocker rotting away or the skirt support? My rockers are 100% intact and rust free. But the side skirt support is pretty much gone by the back wheels.

Also besides finding rust free ones at a salvage yard or buying new ones for 350 per side from gm. Has anyone come up with any solutions as far as the side skirt brackets? Looking at them I don't think they would be to hard to make with some sheet metal and a break.

Almost always the rockers rot off first.

I'd say youd be best off just getting some from a junkyard but if you wanna fix them yourself go for it. You may end up with a decent gap between the skirt and the car when your done tho. JY probably isnt gonna charge more than 50 bucks for a pair at most.

My dad and I spent an afternoon repairing my rocker panels with sheets of galvanized steel. Dad hammered them pretty good and despite using sheet metal screws instead of welding it looks 1000x better than rusted holes. Next plan is to put the rails and side molding over that since I have an SE.
