So my woman busted my handle, how do I go about opening it?
|
Never messed with an 04 before, but I worked on an Imp that had this issue and had to unbolt/unscrew the hinge at the bottom to get inside it enough to trip the latch and then replace it. If you lay on the floorboard and look up you should see what I mean.
I used a pair of needle nose pliers to open mine and found some goodies in there when i did get it open.
I haven't tried to get in there yet, but ill try all your suggestions. I know that newgmparts.com has everything for gm cars so ill just buy a new "door" and the handle will come with it. this is the 3rd vehicle from GM that I or someone else broke the glove box handle.. junk!
You could just post a wtb and buy just the glove box handle and save yourself a bunch of money
or that. wanna see the real money grabber? this is my project that i just picked up.

thought that I'd copy you! lol. Its got not even half the miles my GTP has so i thought that I'd slowly get the Comp G going. I'm not used to the stock sound of these cars and the performance. Its weird.
Keep the stock 04 bumper and get a SE lip
But a GXP front may not be a bad option
The SE lip is pretty sweet. Much cheaper than my GXP idea. I never seen a GXP wiring harness for the signal and fog lights so I'm not even sure if i could get it going properly. The car has to go and get inspected from my insurance company when I'm done, so I cant half ass anything, its gotta all look OEM.
Yea I wanted a GXP bumper at one point but could never find one for a reasonable price so I said f it and I'm glad I pulled the trigger on the SE lip. Prices have gone up quite a bit. I'm sure you could make your own harness or just hack up a 04 one to make it work.
yeah! a used one i found from a auto wrecker was $580.00. that's without the whole assembly, only the cover. i thought that's a retarded price.
