i got a 2001 gt , runs like a sewing machine, tranny changes fine, but every now and again, very randomly, that sucker will just, jerk or stumble not really jerk but just a miss, once or twice very quickly, then back to normal, no check engine light , happens so fast can't nitice rpm's drop or anything, have noticed it doesn't do it at high speeds on interstate. rebuilt trans. last year, new plugs, wires, 1 coil, new map, cleaned maf, new pcv, new speed sensor, it was bucking bad a few years ago and it turned out to be the map sensor, gasket had gone bad on it, this is similiar to that but isn't it and no code HELP anyone ,,,

does it occur under light loads (going ups hills, slight throttle apply) when the torque convertor is locked up? torque convertor shudder will feel just like a misfire jerk/stumble and occurs when the torque convertor is coming out of full lock-up. No misfires or other dtc will set.

hi primem, no it don't shudder, it's very weird, gotta be some kind of sensor, relay, i think i drove 200 miles to durham today didn't do it the first time, about 100 miles on way back going done it at about 78 mph & 75 very quick motor and tranny like flipping a light switch on & back on, doesn't loose power i mean doesn't turn off just loose's power then right back, sometimes i can get it to do it around 58 mph but not always, guess i.m gonna break down before too long and go see them 150.00 hr mechanics, cause i got a lifter ticking now, but 1 thing at a time, lol, gotta beat car payments, trying to beat mechanics also, but something random is hard, unless they got the thingy u plug in and drive it and then download info, only saw that on wheeler dealers though

your tach ever drop to zero when driving? or has it ever just stalled while driving for no reason?

the last time i had a similiar problem it did cause it lasted longer, took me a while to figure it out, check your MAP sensor out, the o-ring was broke on mine, caused a headache fer awhile til i found that little bugger, it would drop to 0 then come back,, this time don't know what to call it people talk about stall like car shutting off, mine don't cut off engine and trans just go off and back on so fast u ain't got time to look at the dash

the tack runs off the crank sensor, so if its dropped to zero that could be the issue.

typically a crank sensor will cause the car to stall right after the tach drops to zero. some times they run still. but do the cut out, like some one turned it off for a second then back on.
