Ok.just received my hv insert and put it on. Now im throwing three codes 300, 171, 1380. I checked everything throughly and my homeboi checked behind me. Under throttle everything is fine, but at idle the misfires start. I recently done a tuneup the summer so i wouldnt figure plugs or wires. Could this be a vac leak between the spacer and manifold or plenum? Does have plenty noticable pull on take off ever with these issues

I would first double check to make sure the plug wires are on the right plugs. It sounds too easy to miss, but I've done it myself Checking for a vacuum leak with some carb cleaner is a good idea too. Also, check the plug to the evap purge valve

I would say its a vac leak.

My HV3 was sluggish from a dig, and pulled hard up top.

With my hv3 when I had the NA car, it was kind of a pain to get the gasket seated right... make sure the bolts are tight... I didnt tighten mine enough and I had a vac leak... then they came looser and I had a huge coolant leak that left me stuck in the rain trying to fix it, lol.

But yeah definitely check the plug wires, as it was said they're really easy to mix up if you're rushing or not paying close attention.

There's really nothing you're touching there that should be causing misfires except that, unless you unplugged the injectors from the rail and they're not connected right.

Ok, now if i remember correctly when we were putting this back together, he didnt replace the UIM gasket because he could not
figure out how to make it work. I told him that im sure it still needs a gasket, but he insisted it would be ok, because of the
RTV between the HV spacer and the the manifold...could this be it?

yeah... you dont just rtv it, lol. The gasket only goes on one way, just fit it to the shape of the manifold... and you gotta use the one that came with it, the stock one has a clip that wont fit anymore.

Any parts store should stock them. They call them "plenum gaskets".

If you buy a stock one, though, I think you'll have to cut the clip off.. the factory one has a clip that attaches it to the intake runners, which wont work with the hv3 in there.

It's been a few years, but I want to say I found a way for the clips to work. I don't recall exactly.

Go ahead and cut the clips that hold that palstic tube. You don't need either the clips or the tube. Then the gasket will sit flush with the HV3 within the UIM.

Damnit, well i'll get after it tomorrow morning. I found the gasket on autozone website, the guy was just being lazy when i went yesterday
morning. Should i razor blade the clips off? Trying to avoid breaking the new gasket, by modifying it to the insert. Thanx for the help
    so far folks.

Best pic I could find for now. You want to cut the two clips holding the clear plastic tube. I used a pair of wire cutters to trim them. You just need to trim them enough to where the gasket sits flush with the HV3. You also don't need that plastic tube.

It's supposed to help direct air to the PCV.

    Aka it's worthless.
