I've posted a couple thread about my 2005 GP GT recently but now im starting to get worried... Before I did a trans fluid change my trans was acting funny a couple days but not as often. Long shifts or high rpm before shifting into next gear. I looked at the fluid and noticed "car running" that it was just past full with bubbles. That's when I decided that it was time for a trans fluid change.

    I used

    Castrol/1 qt. domestic multi-vehicle automatic transmission fluid (06820) | Transmission Fluid | AutoZone.com

I changed this about a month ago and I've noticed my transmission has been acting up more often "almost every other day now". When its a good day the trans will shift pretty smooth so im not sure what is going on now. Both my manual and my dip stick calls for DEX 3 and the fluid I used is Dex 3 and the only thing AutoZone had besides the autozone brand. They didn't just have Dex 3 so that's why I bought the dex/merc.

I thought maybe the solenoids might be going bad because this happens on and off. What I dont understand is that Dex 3 is required for 2005 and previous models but 2006-2008 GP's call for Dex 6?

Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Bubbles on the dipstick isn't good, if I recall correctly it's a valve body issue. Don't quote me but I'm sure I've read that somewhere.

Well from what I read it also could be to much fluid in the transmission so I went with that. Today on my way home from work it was shifting looong shifts =/

So I took it to a shop this morning and they check fluid lvl which was good, check for codes but none came up, and took it for a drive. They said the clutch plates are slipping which was probably due from adding new fluid in which I understand. Said about 1800 for rebuild or 2500 for new motor swap.
