i have a 1998 gtp and i replaced my passenger axle back in may and just did once again in august. now the one i just put in has yet had a boot failure like all the previous ones put in. i have no idea what is causing the boot failure, nothing is contacting it nor improper installation. i'm tired of putting them in. any suggestions on why it keeps blowing the boot apart?

this is the axle i put in with my father who is a tier 4 master mechanic,

there was a thread about the bellows in the boots, i cant remember if it was the more or less bellows were better. but one of them fell of more often or something like that.

i used a napa axle, no problems so far 2 years later now.

Yep, go with the Napa axle from now on. Sure, you can keep exchanging them from OReillys, but as you said you're tired to swapping axles.

my main question isn't about quality I just want to know if there would be any other reasons to cause it other than just being from o'reilly or not

The more the better. I had one that had less and it only lasted 3 months. Current one has several more than old and its much better

Check your motor mount, a failed one can cause improper geometry, a good vibration and the boot popping off.

Do yourself a favor if you do plan on replacing mounts. Do not buy cheap mounts form you local auto parts stores. Most carry anchor. These mounts are garbage. They are ok for the average low hp dd civic or w/e but for our cars ive blown out 3 trans and motor in a few months. Buy a polly mount from zzp or make your own if you can. Dealer price is like 120 or something so you might as well get polly.

well thanks guys and my father deals with O'reilly on a daily basis so he and the regional manager had a few words and now they are giving me a new axle not rebuilt and if this one blows they are going to pay for one from where ever i want.

checked the mounts and found my receipt on the motor mount its a anchor mount. It hasn't collapsed yet, so any other ideas on issues that would cause it? I don't want to put it in until I have found the reason of failure. I doubt its just been p.o.s. half-shafts

atleast it was your motor mounts over and over, I somehow with a 3.4 setup managed to dent the subframe and twist the metal bracket on the engine after a launch from a stoplight one night
