Just thought it was odd enough to mention that when i put the car in nuetral, the speedo falls to 0.Throw her back in drive, pops back to whatever speed its supposed to,lol. Now, i havent tried this in my red gp yet,but i dont think it should do that. Not that it makes any fricken difference. Anyone else notice this, or does my gp just want to screw with me tonight.

Im not a transmission specialist but i dont think you should be throwing your car from drive to neutral and back while driving.

Now that I think of it, doing that is extremely dangerous and harmful to the transmission. I think it has something to do with the internal parts spinning at a higher rate when shifting to neutral and then shifting back.

I don't think nuetral drops have an issue as long as you arent giving it throttle. Lots of people still believe that switching to nuetral to coast is still necessary, it isn't.

Ok so I ran to get some food and tried to see what happens at 40 mph, 35 mph, 30 mph and then slowing to a stop with it in Neutral, nothing happened. My speedo just stated the speed. Hope you figure it out.

My bro's 98 GTP did the same thing. Pop it in netural and the speedo drops to zero. Pop it back in drive and it shoots right back up. Never did figure it out. My 97 doesnt do it and neither did my 99.

Well, i tried it in my gtp.Still reads the speed, so its just my gold car.And no, going from nuetral to drive is not harmful unless your on the gas.I was just coasting up to a stop and was bored.

Did you ever figure this out? I'm having the exact same problem. The VSS signal just stops when the car is in neutral. Here's my thread on it:

A topic that is in a different section than this one that the OP might not visit on a regular basis. On top of that, he might have the problem fixed now and just didn't update the thread.
