If you are stock, and you think your car is fast, then you have never driven anything with real power.

to be honest, most people who ride in my car for the first time, and i jump on it are bit surprised.

it wears off real fast as the driver tho. its not a rocket. they just dont expect it to jump up and go like it does. its just a regal lol then it hits 65 mph and falls on its face, ha.

    This. LOL

Off the top of my head, the rides all my friends drive include a Camry, a Sienna van, a GP GT, a couple Saturn's, two old Hyundai Elantra's, a Jetta, and a really beat-up '83 Cougar.

So, when I get on it, they think I'm flying. And in fact, the guy who drives the GT got certifiably scared when he got behind the wheel and let it rip - not in shock that he reached triple digits, but in shock that he got there so quickly.

I've said that the supercharger whine starts to sound like a jet as you pass 4,000 RPM. My number one priority is to increase that whine.

This is why I don't let friends with slower cars drive either of my cars. People will talk all they want about being able to handle a powerful vehicle, but when it comes down to it, most can not. It's real f**king scary when they freeze behind the wheel of your vehicle and you have to reach over and yank the wheel over to avoid rear ending a tractor trailer at 140mph.

back in the day i had a friend who had a montie SS 80's version, where it could spin the tires it was no rocket ship in reality, but he lets his ex girl friend take it for a "ride around the block" well she gets to the corner, stops, then nails the gas, turns left, loses complete control of the car, never lets off the gas or hits the brakes, and drove it right into a brick building, and through the front door and brick support columns, car totaled, and he still never get to fvck her again. as thats all he was after in the first place. she sure fvcked him tho, oh boy.

we made fun of him for years after that, his parents were more then pissed, the girl could care less, figures right....

and this happened right in front of every one. lol

As a 17 year old I had a 69 gto, 400, 4 speed etc. nothing will compare to that ride, but the gtp brings back those feelings of long ago, of being thrown back in the seat and seeing the speedometer hit a hundred in a matter of seconds.

    i had a 1970 formula 400 firebird.

i wish my regal was anything close to that car. sadly its not. its a regal, and the firechicken was a rocket.

    john cola--

This reminds me of a story the pastor at my church tells from time to time. Goes something like this:

"When I was a teenager, my first car was a Pontiac Bonneville that had about 450 horsepower. The first day I got my driver's license, I laid a strip of rubber about a hundred feet long right in front of my parents' house. I was actually surprised when my mother didn't chew me out, say I was irresponsible, and take my keys. Instead, she just made me buy the next set of tires."

And no, almost none of my friends ever get to sit behind the wheel of the GTP. For the exact same reasons a few posters above me have already mentioned. The only exception was the guy who had the GT, and he actually doesn't want to drive it anymore.

I let most of my friends drive my GTP, but then again, most of my friends own or have owned F-body, vettes, and a couple with supercharged Mustangs. I am the slow one in the group, but still get respect for the car and my not claiming RACEKAR status all the time to them.

I'm usually the first in the bracket races, bottom of the pole they tell people outrun that supercharged grand prix and IF you win we will let you race one of us, usually stops there lol.

Yeah, I would have to time it, but it takes awhile to hit triple digits. The gear ratio doesn't help things.
