hello, i own a 2004 grand prix gt. my blower fan will not switch from defrost to the vents. whenever i turn the knob to defrost the fan slows, when i turn it back to the vents it picks back up. but it does not change over to the vents it stays on defrost.. (stuck in defrost mode)

Give these 2 threads a read and see if it helps. Sounds like one of the actuators is shot or one of the vac lines may be loose/cracked somwhere.

thanks fordman, i parked it one night everything was fine then the next day for some reason it stuck on defrost. i never even turned it on defrost lol. i have tried looking for vaccum lines. while under the dash all i mostly saw were wires and connectors. under the hood it was hard to locate vaccum lines also. but i will try these links and see what i can come up with. once again thanks for your time...

the vac line comes off the engine to the firewall then down the pass side fender, under the fuse box it should have a T there, one side runs into the cab via the wire harness, the other may or may not lead to a vac ball in the driver side fender, it would lead across the rad support to the d/s fender.
