ok, i have been having issues with my GP again. When im at a complete stop or rolling to a stop at a stop and go light or a stop sign, i push on the gas and my gar jumps forward like it wasnt fully in gear. i thought it was because i was on either a crack or a part of the road paint to where it was slipping on the pavement that resulted in that. Or my transmission is taking a crap on me. My boyfriend told me it might be my TPS (throttle positioning sensor), that its not reading right. i need some opinions and advice.

Even if the TPS was bad, it should go forward like it always does, and it would likely set a code. Sounds like something inside the transmission isn't applying correctly. I think there's something like the apply piston seal wears, and it slips in first and acts like it's not in gear, then bangs forward like you just put it in D.

Is that going to cost a lot to fix? And how do you even find out what's wrong?

    You test..

Start out by taking it to a trans shop for a basic diagnostic.. They can hook up stuff that will tell them if engine load vs rpm in vs out etc are good. That will get you started for learning what is wrong.

If the piston is bad.. most shops would automatically rebuild.

Ok. I'll take a look and see what I can find. See what shop to take it to and go from there. Hopefully there's nothing wrong and its just being mental. Lol.
