    2005 GP GT

Soooo... the other day I decided take my car to a friends house who works on cars. I needed a oil change and didn't feel like driving all the way to my parents house to do it myself so I figured I have him doit. I usually put about 4.5 quarts in engine but when my friend was doing it it told me to poor the whole 5.1 quarts into my engine and said "trust me" its fine.. I read its to much or fine and also read the it should be at the 3 dot any lower is to less or high to more. So I figured I would ask you guys who own these GP's to what is right. If its to much what is the best way to remove the extra oil?

    Thanks!

Turn on the car for about 5 minutes , turn off and recheck oil. If it falls within the hash marks then your good, if too much then unplug the oil drian plug and remove some.

If it is above the full line on the dipstick, technically that is too much. It is easy to take some out, and if you want to save it, use a clean drain pan and just pull the drain plug for a second or two and then stick it back in. You might want to wear some disposable gloves just in case it gets messy.

I pour the whole jug in everything for the past 2 years will be no problem. IF there is a problem, what will happen the crank with churn up the oil into a foam. The oil on your dip stick will look like a latte.

I use 4.5, then after 5k miles I usually top off with the other .5 since it leaks a bit from the pan gasket. I imagine the engineer who designed it put the full line where he did for a reason so I try to not go over that.

they are going to give you a little wiggle room...you know how many people would have a blown engine if you put a little too much oil in lol

    5 quarts ftw.

The oil pan is huge, could likely handle up to 5.5 quarts before any real foam starts.

i always dump the whole 5 quarts in, its makes it like 3 mm's over the full line, no big deal, most of use leak oil anyways.
