    Is it as simple as making your own coverplate for the EGR port on the intake manifold?

    I'm assuming it'd throw a code, too, but that can all be removed with a tune, yes?

    Yes and Yes.. the coolest of kids use the piece of the EGR that holds the tube to the manifolds with pennies and rtv to block them.
    I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    This might be a stupid question but do you only need to block off the intake manifold and the exhaust? I've seen pics of ppl removing egr and welding it closed but is that needed. Only asking cuz the tube running to the intake manifold might be cracked so instead of getting a new one I was thinking of blocking it off. I already have a block off plate from zzp for the headers

    Yup, just block off both and tune the codes out for the check engine light.
