ive seen the zzp mounts squish out on the sides but thats about it, the dude just cut some off the end so it wouldnt hit the cv boot, i tryed the solid trans mount from zzp and snapped it in half after about 1000 miles

Yeah it's definitely a zzp thing unfortunately nobody else makes a poly tranny mount for us. But it does feel like its rubbing on the axle boot. Lol my car wont even go over 2k RPM. bout to be another failed zzp mount. I dont even know if I could cut the damn thing if I wanted to.

That's what im trying to figure out bc my last zzp poly trans mount didn't rub at all. Something must be out of place or something. Car lifted it's clearing everything but with weight on all 4 tires its hard to see anything under my car bc it sits so low to the ground. I mean your average person could get under there but I weigh a solid diesel 260lbs. Ima have to find a way to get up under there bc from the sound of it if I keep driving this way something is gonna get ripped off. Crazy though bc the only possible rub is the axel boot. Nothing else is in that area unless some wire or whatever is hanging but I highly doubt something is hanging out of place

the way that ive seen them rub is on very high power cars they start to miss shape and kind of bulge out on the ends, i just put one on my car and its a good inch from the boot

Still doesn't make sense my mount is way bigger in dimension than a zzp mount. High power or not Poly should not distort under load .

the 700whp regal i was working on destorted the **** out of one, stock ones last for a few hundred miles without being ripped off in my car at 600whp, your underestimating the amount of power im talking here i think, we are bending cradles i dont expect a mount to last a real long time lol

Yeah the mount does bulge a out a lil, I thought I had tighten it to much but but I highly doubt that. Im totally out of possibilities but im now thinking that the mount bolts may be grounding out. Once again something that has never happened but it's the only thing I can think of right now

Might as well try my solution for the mount

Seems like the best solution, where did you get the polyurethane?

Ebay just put in polyurethane stock or polyurethane bar stock I used 3x3x11 of 95a for 65bucks shipped. I cut it down to 3x3x5 for my trans piece. You could also use 2 1/2 inch for length and width and use some steel bar stock to make up the diffrence

Well I think I figured out the problem. I loosened the mount some and I was able to get above 2500 rpm. Now I've never had an overtighed mount but after the street drive I realized the car was just fine

Lesson learned, don't over tighten mounts

HUH...how can you overtighten a mount? I'm not a weak guy and I ensure the nuts are good n tight on that mount whenever I do one.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I mean there's a difference between tight and overkill. You keep turning and turning and eventually you'll have a snapped bolt or split mount. The average person won't tighten that much but at some point the bolt will run out of thread and the mount material will crack or fatigue quicker than usual. So I guess it is possible to over tighen a mount. And remember the mount bolts do come into direct contact with the mounts frame/housing which is of course connected to the cradle meaning an over tighen nut/bolt will directly affect anything else in contact with it

What chal think, sounds reasonable....ima loosen mines a lil more sense I didn't finish yesterday and I hope it relieves some tension so my tranny will have space to breathe. Trust me it'll remain tighten down even after I loosen it a lil, these mounts are just rubber and polyurethane so it being that material it'll be easy to tighten well past where you really need it

I understand about overkilling beyond tight. The bolts don't go straight through..right? I think they are slightly offset top to bottom. I was thinking if they were straight and too tight..then you'd essentially lock it down and cause vibration.

Man, im still getting a grind and scraping noise while accelerating. Im clueless bc I see nothing making contact. Wish I had the size demension to determine which angle the mount is sitting on and figure out what is now touching. Funny bc I've never had a problem with any trans mount that I've ever
    Work on.

Didn't you see the drop down box when ordering?

Yup but I accidentally choose the option for $89.99, the same option that failed me before. Funny bc I had a zzp motor mount that failed me prematurally also. My fault again, should've choose the drop down box option that said....do not buy bc zzp mounts(along side plenty of other products here) are known to fail or not work as advertised). Damn drop down boxes......

Do you still have the old one? I saw more pics of my mount (w body) etc and was starting to think more and more than maybe the bolts do go straight through. If you have the old one..chop into it and see if the bolts are straight through. if so.. overtight would cause a boat load of vibration that might feel like something rubbing.

Cause..if you don't find anything with a mark on it..them maybe it's just vibration.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
