From what I have herd is that dexcool is much much better at protecting aluminium then the "green stuff" (Aka silicate based coolant) .... I have also been told that basically all modern coolants nowadays use OAT instead of silicates anyways so basically everything is dexcool reguardless of color.
    Depends what coolant you use.

Not many companies use just acid. Just GM really.

Everyone else uses silicates or phosphates, with some exceptions depending on the year.

General rules: Japanese= phosphates, Euro= Silicates, GM= Acid, Ford/Chyrsler= G-05 aka Silicates. I think both Ford and Chrysler might have changed their minds recently.

VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group) used silicates, acid then back to silicates again. Three different colours/specifications.

I like the title change...made me laugh again.

Don't use it it you don't maintain it. Hmmmm what if you bought the car with it..as many would? Then you'd have to maintain it to not use it if you didn't plan on maintaining it. It's an oxymoron isn't it?

I think the title you really want is "Dex - Don't buy a car with it..if you won't maintain it". Although...the green crap is supposed to need more maintenance, so that kinda shoots that theory too... Oh wait.. this is a car.. w/o maintenance it'll need some maintenace... lol
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I'm merely pointing out the err of your ways.

    "DON'T USE DEX!!!!"
"DON'T USE DEX IF YOU AREN'T GOING TO MAINTAIN"

There's big big flaws in the logic ...
