Thanks for all the advice people, I really appreciate it. The insurance company is giving me enough money to repair the car even after the salvage value is deducted. Secondly, there is no salvage title to worry about, the original title stands. I decided to keep the car because I don't have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get it retitled/re registered and when all is said and done - assuming the repairs don't go over budget - I'll be in the same position as I was before the accident with an extra $1200 in my pocket. I'm still paying off student debt now and had already decided that I wasn't going to finance a car, so using the money as a down payment was not an option. I had already decided against a GTO the first time around when I bought this, I figured it was a better use of my money - I don't really need the fastest car I could get, no matter how much I want it :/ . Any ideas what I should put the $1200 I have left after repairs into? The car is completely stock at this point. I'm thinking new back tires, a heavy duty rear sway bar, trailing arms, and strut tower braces.
