yeah, tons of us do it.
keep the flex plate that matches the trans on the motor.

Don't you have to tune for the gear differences between the HD and non-HD trans?

Yes, you must change the tune or else the cars computer is going to have a the wrong info for the transmission.

Tune for L67 motor keeping non-hd 3.29 ratio for the transmission.
That's what I've got in my red GT.
