So today when I started my car "ABS Service, Traction Control Service & Variable Effort Steering." I press the reset button to clean them but every time I start my car all 3 pop up again. Yesterday I put a new gas cam on because "check gas cap" has been popping up the past week. Recently I put all new brakes/rotors on my car and now this... If anyone has had this and has fixed the problem please let me know, thanks.

What kind of scanner would do this? Because I tried using a scanner that shows codes when check engine light is on but nothing came up?

you would need to go to a garage and have the abs scanned.

or you can also jack each wheel up grab the tire at the top and push and pull firmly, if you feel the whole wheel move the hub is worn out, also check the plugs are clean, and on, and the wires to the plugs are intact.

if you dont find anything wrong, then go have it scanned, that way your not tossing money at it.

most will charge for this scan if they are not doing the repair. could be 20 to 80 dollars, as the scanner they use costs thousands.

there are cheap abs code readers out there. if you buy one make sure it supports your car.

Well I pulled off both front tires to check the sensors and they seem to be fine. I called Bel Tire and they want 70 just to read my car but I can get a $20 coupon so pretty much $50.

order an otc 9450 off amazon and read your own codes for not much more than that.

If you are checking for play on a wheel bearing try rocking the wheels with the tires on. Without the tires on, you may not have enough leverage. At least the three I have replaced, after pulling from the car, there was not any noticeable play. IMHO, if you can see play at the bearing without the leverage of tires, then you are in a dangerous situation.

I have had several grand prixs and i have had this exact prob with 2 of them, and both times it was the wire harness coming out of the wheel bearing, where it plugs in nxt to the bearing. you can get a new harness from the plug back towards the car, then you cut the harness and its 2 wires and just splice it back together everything you need comes with it. ( I would recomend using different splices than they send with it). But yes take it in and have it checked first, it will cost about 50 bucks to have them diagnose it, a wheel bearing is about 120-140 bucks aftermarket, and you can also get the harness aftermarket. i got mine from advanced auto parts. Was 48 dollars there and 100 from gm. So have them figure out which one itis first, its cheaper than buying both parts.

I'm having a similar issue. Had it scanned and it said its the right rear speed sensor. Is it safe to drive with those lights until I can get around to fixing it?

Funny thing is that my was also the right rear sensor that went bad! When I had it scanned they said they can replace it for $315 out the door and I was like "wtf noo..." and left.... I bought the part from the auto parts store and did it myself. Took me about 20-30 minutes to do and was super easy to replace. Driving it like that won't hurt anything just as soon as you get around to it fix it.!

I agree it won't hurt anything, but get it fixed before you face slippery roadways. You won't stop as quickly without ABS and you may have issues steering in a skid.

This is not entirely true, ABS is designed to keep the car in control when making sudden stops and in some cases can actually increase your stopping distance. Ever tried to stop on icey roads with abs.

i was about to say the same thing, how do you think we all stopped before abs was invented?? personally id rather have all the control, F the computer. they cause more problems then they solved really.

but you youngsters, its all most of you have ever drove.

I didn't have ABS for about 2 years, I prefer it that way. If it weren't for the obnoxious noise I was getting from the passenger side bearing this time I wouldn't have changed it.
