My SRS Airbag light comes on and goes off, anyone ever have this happen? Its random too, no consistency.

airbags are funny, it could be the clock spring under the steering wheel, do your radio controls still work? or a dirty plug, all air bag plugs are yellow, or the airbag module under the pass side front seat went bad.
i had my car scanned, came up with a code for driver side open loop, means something on the d/s is not right, fast forward some, my car got flooded, so i change the clock spring, radio controls came on, and worked, but still had the airbag light, so the module was next, (as it was under water) and it fixed the light for good.
What year and model is the car.
I ask because I don't know the 04+ that well and heck..my Regal had a driver seat airbag light which was fixed by cleaning the connector.
You can try. some scanners will read it...some wont.
for example, my HPT read my 2000 Regal code, but the 02 GP it would not.
do your steering wheel controls still work? (for the radio, if so equipped) or do they work on and off with the air bag? i feel like a broken record here......
i had mine car scanned at a garage my friend works at. some shops wont have the scanner, its not cheap to own. but every auto body shop under the sun will have a airbag scanner in the shop, they need it all the time. most will charge you.
the free autozoze scanner is hit or miss, worth a shot, but chances are it wont read a srs code.
same deal goes for abs codes, hit or miss at the az, most need a scanner only a garage will have.
Is there any software that you can get for Android that will let you read ABS codes?
I was thinking about buying this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...A2VZTJP6N0Z6QL to see why my ABS and TC lights are coming on.
you'll need to buy a hand held scanner, search amazon, i saw a few for less then 100.00 one did srs abs and engine codes.
the problem is if it will scan your car or not. check the reviews out good.
