Well a few weeks back the gf and i had purchased a set of Flowmaste 50 series mufflers to put on her gtp. Got the the exhaust shop and within 10 mins they came and got me to inform me the mufflers we had purchased was way too long. So we ended up returning them and doing some more research on different mufflers.

Several web searches and youtube videos later we had agreed on the Thrust Turbo's. Now at this point it was a waiting game for her to say yeah or neh on if she wanted them. So last friday after getting a bite to eat for $hits and giggles we swung into a local autozone to kill sometime. Went to the exhaust section and low and behold there was the mufflers sitting there in stock!! I looked at her and started asking if she wanted them and she was still undecided, so we left. For the rest of the evening i kept asking her "yes or no??" Finally she caved in and said yes.

So saturday morning we get up leave the house and head up to an Autozone that i deal with through work and down the street from the exhaust shop that was going to do the exhaust. 7:30 am was the first customer throught the door, grabbed the mufflers off the shelf rung them up under my commercial account, $49.99 later, and out the door we went.

Was the first at the exhaust shop(which was the plan, seeing as its first come first serve on saturdays, lol) 2 hours later they are pulling the car around and the look on her face hearing it was priceless!!

So long story short(lmao) we got a set of Thrush turbo mufflers part #17702, with the GM quad tip accessory tips, and the sound we both was wanting outta the gtp. The mufflers have a nice deep bellow at idle with little to no rasp through out the rpms range. with the girggle when it idles down. So far the only down side to them is the droan at highway cruising is a tad loud, which we both knew it would have, but its liveable. All in all im going to rate the mufflers at a A- for now, seeing as we have only had them on less than a week, lol. All total ive got in this setup is $177 so im pretty pleased. I will do my best to get a video or sound clip up sometime soon. Thanks for reading

I would say adding a new resonator may help alot with the drone.

We didnt want to change that considering alot of the actual sound comes from the resinator, plus she like likes how it still sounds "somewhat stockish" her words, lol

I got thrush turbos as well plus a 25in thrush glasspack and I do agree they sound great for the money. Idle is perfect, deeper then stock not overly loud. And cruising its a nice lil tone to it. Revving all the way is a,tad raspy for me but still sounds decent.
