    I got my Interceptor gauge today, cant wait to get off work lol Has anyone ever determined what years need this little jumper wire on the Aeroforce gauge and the years that don't? I've done some research and I'm coming up with nothing.

    I've seen some people needing to run an extra power wire to the fuse panel and some that plug and go? Any ideas...?

    I get that, no one has ever been clear about this. I'm not only asking for myself but I just thought something like this would have been answered before...

    No, I know how to do it if I need to. I've just seen so many people unsure whether their gauge will need to be wired or not. Some years need the extra wire, some don't. I am simply asking if anyone knows what years need them and which don't.

    ::edit::
    I understand I can plug it in and see.....but I'm just asking so I know what to expect when I get home tonight.

    So plug it in. does it work? if no, add jumper. How hard is it? Don't act like i'm the bad guy! You're the one that asked the question.

    I thought you only needed to wire it if you didn't wanna unplug it all the time. I ran mine unwired for a while, and recently removed the jumper and wired it.

    I don't have mine wired up direct and just leave it plugged in all the time with no problems.

    04+ is different.

    I think 97 might have had power to the obd 2 port, but anything after that will just blink lights, my 2000 GTP would not work unless you had a 12v power source.

    To OP just try it without running the constant 12V and see how it works and if not add the fuse. No need to make it harder then it is since your probably aren't going to get a definitive yea or no as to if you'll need it or not plus as the saying goes every car is different.

    Thanks guys thats the kind of answer I was looking for...Just seeing if there a definitive answer on what years that needed the constant wire or not...

    I'm really not sure why this turned into something it wasn't, but thanks for the people who had input

    It's definitely dependent on the car. I just installed one in my 98 last week and have to run the power. It'll turn on without it, but after I turn the car off then back on it won't power up again without unplugging it and then plugging it back in.
