I'm replacing the engine in my NA 3800 GPGT. I'm aware of the problems with the plastic upper and a few other issues with that series motor. What would be the latest model engine that could be installed that would bolt right up with no mods? I'm aware of the TB adapter with the later model engines but what other issues would one encounter? Thanks.

using a t.b adapter, your injectors and fuel rail ,you can use an L26 out of the 04 and up cars . if new engine has aluminum oil pan youll have to do a bit of grinding to clear the steel subframe if recall correctly
2000 GT ,E85 powered, and still slow

There is a lip on the inner side of the motor mount bucket. Trim that if you use the aluminum pan with bracket. If you use the big horseshoe from your existing motor, you'll need to trim the horseshoe a little to clear the pan.

Other than that.. it's drop in.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
