Okay, so my uncle recently replaced my fuel pressure regulator and fuel filter. He told me to get the parts and went to Auto Zone. I got the parts and when he put the regulator in, it was the wrong size so he ended up putting the supercharged regulator in it. Anyone else that has replaced the pressure regulator for the 3.8 v6 engine have this issue?

When getting parts from Autozone, yes. You're best bet is to look the part up yourself online and take the part number in with you so they don't screw it up.

I always open the box and make sure it is the right part. About 10 years ago, I had a solenoid boxed wrong. Took 2 back before I realized the store had a case of them boxed wrong. Not really their fault, the box was right but wrong part inside.

Yep, i've found that there are different ones based on the year of the car/fuel rail if motor has been swapped.

When the original pressure regulator was taken out, the screen in it was busted. That was the cause of the car not starting all the time

Actually it appeared busted, likely it was fine. I also thought the same thing. The o-ring is the only thing that barely holds the screen in place. When you pull the old out, you have to fish the screen and ring out everytime.

Well, the new one works great. Before, I had to start it twice or three times sometimes and sometimes there was smoke that came out
