My girlfriend drives an 04 Grand Prix, which has the Heads Up Display. It used to work fine, until she had a new windshield installed. Now it works once in a while. She said if she hits a bump just right (what she said) it will light up, may stay on for a while, then go off.
My question is, would the person who installed the windshield, have unplugged something to the HUD, and not got it correctly plugged back in.
If not, what should I look for, or what may have happened?
She said the auto glass installer told her to bring it in, and he would look to see if...... Don't know if he even knows what to look for.
    Thanks for any answers.

I didn't know that one could adjust the HUD system. If so, that may be what happened, when the new windshield was installed. Is there a proceedure to adjusting it, and is there any special tools needed? I've never worked with, or on a HUD system, so I don't know.

Sounds like the spring broke off. The bump just bounces it into view.
