I started getting a flashing check engine light when I hit 30 mph. I was thinking it was a misfire so I changed the front 3 and the back spark plug (back furthest right) and wires. I still get the flashing check engine light but now it happens at 60mph. I am hoping if I Change the other two spark plugs it will solve that problem.

BUT my car is also shaking while idle and while in drive. It does NOT shake while turned on in park. The belt seems like it is making a squeezing noise, but I think it is from one of the pulleys...I just don't know how to narrow it down. Also the heat recently stopped working. The air comes on but the heat is barley warm. It's been 10-30 degrees around here so I have not had a chance to check if the AC even works. Anyone have any suggestions. I think I can fix most of the problems myself. A local mechanic told me it would be 200$ to change the spark plugs and cables. I was able to do 4 and change all the wires in 30 min for 50$.

    Any suggestions?

Get the car scanned to see what cylinders the misfire is on.

Change those other 2 plugs aswell. Hopefully you bought ac delco plugs or atleast iridiums

Then from there we can figure out what to do next. Be it a coil pack, Ignition module etc etc.

Yeah, I am going to change the back 2 in the tightest spot this afternoon and yeah they are all AC Delco. I will go from there and get autozone to give me the error code

Where do you live in IN? Change the other 2 plugs and wires and go to autozone or advance auto and have them pull the codes they do it for free.

You should also make a habit of checking/setting the spark plug gapping before installation.Usually they're fine as is but I've come across plugs with far too small of a gap.

I read about that, but idk how to do it. I just came from AdvanceAuto they checked my error codes. The only problem was cylinder 6 was misfiring, BUT I already changed the spark plug and cable for cylinder 6. Thats the back furthest right sparkplug right? The only ones I did not change were the back 2 furthest left. I am going to do that in a couple hours when my car cools down.

Also there is smoke coming from the belt/pulleys. I can't seem to narrow down to which one. I noticed the car only shakes in drive not park and after it wobbles there is always smokes. The car does NOT always shake, it happens almost randomly upon start upon start up.

Hey guys just a quick update. It ended up being the ignition coil #6, but also I discovered that the water pump was leaking and throwing anti freeze on serpentine belt and ignition coil which I think is what caused it to go bad in the first place.

I decided to take it in this morning since I did not really feel like doing the work myself even though I know I could have changed the ignition coil fairly easy. The mechanic is charging 420$ for everything including parts+labor.
    Is that resonable?
