image.jpg What is that little filter coming out of the hole where the oil cap goes. What does it do and are there any advantages to having one? This is not my car

You need to put the stock filler cap back on, the only reason to have one is for a system that has no PCV valve. Think that's right, I'm just repeating what I have read many times.
The 2002 gxp is 3.8l supercharged v6 I have all the upgrades exept the supercharged engine. The previous owner when ordering the car from the dealership in 2002 asked for everything on the gxp trim exept for the upgraded engine. So my car is a 2002 gp GT with upgraded gxp stuff included exept for supercharged engine.
gtp the gxp was a v8
cause it goes se gt gtp
where as the 04+ goes gt gtp gxp
Well, technically, gxp didn't start til 2005. And the 2004 was gt1/gt2 no base model.
yup yo right my bad.
you keep saying you have everything but the supercharger and yet if that picture is the car then you do have a supercharger.. Also yeah valve cover breather. Its not really going to do anything unless your PCV is blocked off like mine is.
