So some history. Ive owned two monte carlos. An 01 base model, and a 03 Jeff Gordon SS. Both were toatled. Jeffie was my fault, rearended a lexus when I was going 70, he was at a dead stop on a highway. I came out without a scratch, the people I hit had no health insurance, no car insurance, nothing. Im getting sued out the butt for it because I had full coverage -.-

Well, im considering a GP because I loved the 3.8 engine. Never once had an engine troubles, besides a block heater cracking, but, that was due to the place I bought it from incorrectly replacing it or something. Id like to stick with the 6cyl 3.8s

Now my monte had a series 2. Im looking for a series 3. What are the main differences in them?

Also, what should I be looking out for in purchasing a gp? I mean gp specific problems. I knew that I had to look out for the tranny problems with my monte, which I steered clear of several cars with hard shifting, are the gps the same in that respect?

Also, out of these cars, which looks the best?

2007 Pontiac Grand Prix 4dr Sdn GT 07gt 9800 asking
2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GT Leather Heated Seats Sunroof 04 gt 5500 asking
    2004 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX 04gt 6400 asking
2006 Pontiac Grand Prix 06(base i believe? due to the rims, makes me think its base.)
2004 Pontiac Grand Prix 04 gt 10k asking

Im thinking the first one. The one thing about the first one is that the engine compartment looks a little dingy, like something burnt up on the engine. Cleaning the engine bay will obviously take care of that look, but what could cause that look in the first place, besides just some oil blowback? Also, im paying in cash, not that it matters, but im a firm believer in never borrowing from a place thats going to end up taking 25-50% extra on top of the money you borrowed.

This topic is also being used to document which cars specifically im interested in lol, and ive got 10k to spend. I also know how to haggle. I got my insurance company to change their offer for my totaled monte from 3980 to 9300. Communications class im taking this semestor helped alot =p

First one, I just bought an 06 GT supercharged a month ago and couldn't be happier. That one looks real nice too. I got mine a lot cheaper tho but that what they go for at dealerships. Try finding one on Clist or auto trader with a private owner. My ins is 3k a year so I feel your pain. I'm 23 n the only car on the insurance tho, it sucks!

I live on long island, but sorry, 6k is for my car and motorcycle. I think its like a total of 5100 for the car alone. But yeah, thats what happens when you total two cars. A bus t boned my first monte, and my insurnace went from 3 to 4500, even though both insurance companies said it wasnt my fault at all. After I totaled this last car they said it would most likely bump up to 6k this sept. But I have full coverage on any vehical I own, so I know I gotta pay more.

And I have no points on my license. Never gotten more then a red light ticket, which in NY dont give you points. Never had my license suspended, never drove drunk etc.

Oh and im 20. Totaled first car when I was 17. This one I just turned 20 three months before.

And thats my rates WITH twenty percent off. 10 with defensive driving, and 10 percent off from drivers ed.

My bike is a 00 honda rebel 250. So its not like im breaking any land speed records.
    or 60 mph.

    heh.

First or last. That gold 04 must be a GTP not a GT, might have the HUD other than that, 3 years difference with practically same miles and both 10., whew they be smokin that ganja. Insurance will be more with the blowers. Get to bartering using your communication skills.

Yeh im gonna. The JGSS I bought was priced at 11k. I paid 7500. My insurance reimbured me 9300 20k miles later =p

    winning.

Ill prob be able to get the first gp for around 7500 post tax.

Oh and ive decided imma try out the white one first. Not honestly fond of white, but so far, yellow and blue havent worked out for me lmao
Buts its prob one of the sharper white cars ive seen, I wouldnt be displeased if I end up getting it. Theres always plastidip!

Lol no. no plastidip. Plastidip is worse then putting one of those car bras on the front fender, and thats unforgivable.

A hood bra on the other hand...

tbh gold reminds me of old people.

and if I can crossdress my gp can crossdress! =p
And all miah cars be chicks. My JGs monte was named Jefferella Gordenette.

    wait you can haggle insurance prices? I mean, I know I can haggle their payouts now, since I did, but I didnt realize you can haggle what you pay them o.o;

But then again I found out you can haggle a jewelry store recently, and it was a fun experience on top of it.

The white with the cream interior..I used to not like them but they grew on me. I was looking for one but got my red. And also check esurance. Thats who I ended up going thru and it was 300 cheaper than others evry 6 months.
