Just wanted to pass this site along, maybe its been seen before. Conveniently shows us how much we might spend or save on a repair, depending on car year and zip code.

I said spend or SAVE. I get a woody everytime I do some sorta repair and know I just saved buttloads of $s. Its just a novel ballpark amount estimator for actual savings, after parts cost.
    DIY or die.

    Yeah, you already know!!
There is a lot of people who jump on here and ask how much for click and clack, with this it narrows the money issue a little with the area code.
WE usually know a ballpark figure for repairs, but some people who do shops are more afraid of the CAR MECHANIC than they fear the dentist.

Yea. Well I may start using that just for estimated around here. I've kinda turned into the guy people ask for help since im the only one on the barracks with tons and tons of tools and repair manuals. I haven't been charging people much but may start charging a radio more. I've done several starters a couple different alternator's. A guys radiator in his truck...and tons of spark plugs and wires for people.

My good friend works on cars for his butter and has to deal with a lot of crap. He just tells them to get a quote from a shop, if they dont believe him. They usually come back with their tails between the legs.

I don't really have a problem cause a lot of the marines go and get an estimate then decide they don't wanna pay that much a dike what I say better. Although one of the alternator's I did was a freaking bi*ch.
